THE PASSION FOR NEAPOLITAN PIZZA
OUR STORY
In 1889, Queen Margherita travelled to Naples. There, a Pizzaiolo by the name of Raphael Esposito was summoned to cook for the Royal Court. He cooked three pizzas for the Queen. One was made to represent the colors of the new united Italian flag;
Red Tomatoes, White Mozzarella & Green Basil.
The Queen favoured this pizza the most and it was subsequently named in her honour. This is the story of the famous Margherita Pizza and why we named our Pizzeria "Queen Margherita of Savoy".

THE RULES
One size only | No Pineapple | No Half/Half
Neapolitan pizzas cook in 60-90 seconds at temperatures exceeding 450 degrees. This results in a light, soft, foldable & satisfyingly chewy pizza base.
All our ingredients are the BEST you can get.
Each pizza is hand-stretched, the use of any mechanical device is not allowed.
The Pizza must be cooked in a wood-burning oven, directly on stone.
The crust & base should be charred, accentuating the flavour in the same way a chargrill does.
It will be slightly wet, even "soupy" in the centre, this is perfectly normal & is a result of the fresh ingredients & fast cooking time associated with Neapolitan pizza.
